When we create a sense of belonging within ourselves, it becomes easier to create it for others

Hi, I’m Crystal Whiteaker (she/her). As a coach, consultant, and speaker, I work with socially conscious companies and leaders to create values-aligned, human-focused environments that center belonging.

In the meantime, here’s a little about me:

Philosophy and values

My clients, collaborators, and I believe in co-creating containers where people feel valued —  and where curiosity, connection, and collaboration are essential.

We thrive by taking a holistic, trauma-informed, collaborative approach. We recognize that when people feel seen, heard, and understood, they're more likely to feel comfortable opening up to share their challenges, talents, curiosities, and contributions in beneficial ways. We believe true leadership is intrinsically inclusive, and core values are the key to collective belonging and sustainable impact.

My values are Freedom, Curiosity, Well-being, Community, and Trust.

My story and background

“Growing up with white parents, I moved through life with their audacity of whiteness. I assumed their privilege was mine. I was in for a rude awakening.” – Colin Kaepernick

When I first heard those words in Colin Kaepernick’s Netflix series, I froze. I’d had that same realization myself and even spoken it out loud to friends, clients, and my own mother.

I grew up immersed in whiteness, learning all of the “rules.” Still, so much felt off. It wasn’t until I gained the knowledge, language, and hindsight to revisit my experiences that things began to finally make sense — even when what I recognized was unjust.

Looking back, I can see how those early experiences shaped me into the right person to guide people through the vulnerable, challenging, and transformative work of becoming more inclusive — and for BIPOC and queer clients, of fully honoring their lived experience.

Like many of my white clients, I was raised with the mantra “we don’t see color” and taught to think of racism as overt acts. I didn’t yet understand the ways I had internalized anti-Blackness.

Since then, I’ve been (and continue to be) on the long, meaningful journey of unlearning, dismantling bias, and re-examining privilege, race, and identity.

Many of my conversations with white clients mirror the ones I’ve had in my own family. I can say honestly: I get it. I understand. I know you mean well.

At the same time, I connect deeply with my BIPOC and queer clients navigating a similar path, because I carry the lived experience of being a queer, Black, neurodivergent woman in a world that doesn’t embrace us. I know what it’s like to be defined by that identity — and the radical strength it takes to reclaim your power, confidence, and sense of belonging.

I’m honored to support people with overlapping identities, and those who desire to work with someone who understands the challenges of navigating leadership with a marginalized identity.
